Most admissions positions focus on promoting what a school provides. This role is designed to uphold standards.
GT School partners with families seeking an educational experience beyond what conventional classrooms deliver. Our students exhibit exceptional academic capacity and advance at a rate that demands complexity, rigor, and deliberate design. We create an environment where this caliber of ability is not merely accommodated—it is anticipated.
Our approach is structured to engage students at their current level and advance them further. Instruction is personalized, advancement is monitored with precision, and students are continually prompted to engage in deep thinking and progress with assurance. Families approach us to determine whether this degree of intensity and velocity aligns with their child, and to access a learning context that honors their child's genuine potential.
In this position, you will serve as the initial contact for families evaluating whether GT School suits their child's needs. Each written communication and every discussion you facilitate will influence how families perceive the program and envision their child's educational trajectory.
We welcome applicants from high-end service sectors outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive programs, upscale hospitality, executive assistance, elite membership communities, or entrepreneurial operators who have directly shepherded high-stakes client experiences from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to execute a detailed, phased process with sound judgment, transparency, and accountability.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take complete ownership of the admissions process, spanning initial inquiry to final enrollment determination and family integration
- Develop and implement transparent assessment criteria that establish student alignment, suitable for consistent application by generalists across multiple locations
- Methodically organize and oversee 15–25+ simultaneous family engagements, employing explicit benchmarks, phase transparency, and direct accountability for progression
- Facilitate campus visits, observation experiences, and outcome-focused discussions that articulate expectations, results, and considerations with accuracy
- Ensure precise CRM data and enrollment documentation to enable forecasting, priority setting, and service excellence
- Serve as the organization-wide authority on recognizing qualified candidates for GT micro-campus environments
- Develop straightforward, scalable tools that empower Admissions Directors to autonomously identify and recommend GT-appropriate students
- Deliver training and sustain adherence to these tools to guarantee uniform judgment quality network-wide
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Deploying transactional or aggressive enrollment techniques
- Accepting families with poor alignment merely to meet targets
- Supervising a sizable staff or navigating multi-tiered approval structures
- Distributing responsibility for the family relationship among several functions
- Operating from a remote location. This position requires on-campus presence by intention
- Directing or supervising Admissions Directors at additional sites; this is a collaborative support function for GT-specific matters
Director Of Admissions Key Responsibilities

- Documented responsibility for a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial interaction through integration
- Background managing concurrent client, guest, or family engagements across varying phases, supported by an explicit tracking and prioritization methodology
- Capacity to offer specific instances of advisory decision-making, including situations where you counseled against your offering when alignment was insufficient
- Professional correspondence experience with C-suite executives, affluent individuals, or discerning clientele
- Established history of creating frameworks, operational guides, or decision-support systems that allowed others to exercise consistent, autonomous judgment (must articulate the challenge, methodology, and implementation)

- Legal authorization to work in the United States without requirement for visa sponsorship
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Background in competitive independent school admissions or selective program recruitment
