Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Salesforce Development & Engineering
Designs, develops, tests, and deploys complex Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura, SOQL/SOSL, and other platform technologies.
Builds scalable, reusable components and applies best practices for performance, security, and maintainability.
Serves as a technical expert for Salesforce development, setting direction for complex solution design, and resolving complex system issues that scale with the overall Salesforce architecture.
Solution Design & Technical Leadership
Leads development efforts for complex Salesforce initiatives that span multiple clouds and integrated systems.
Translates business requirements into technical designs and implements solutions leveraging platform capabilities such as Flow, Platform Events, and asynchronous processing.
Ensures solutions align with enterprise architecture and data management practices.
Integration & Data Architecture
Develops and maintains integrations between Salesforce and external systems using APIs and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft.
Ensures secure and reliable data exchange across systems and supports enterprise data architecture, including Data Cloud, where applicable.
Advanced Capabilities (AI, Automation, Analytics)
Designs and implements advanced Salesforce capabilities, including AI-driven features, automation, and analytics, to support enterprise use cases across the student and institutional lifecycle.
Collaborates with administrators, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with University priorities.
Provides mentorship and technical guidance to other developers and contributes to knowledge sharing across the team.
Contributes to and influences enterprise architecture discussions and decisions, ensuring Salesforce solutions align with the broader University technology strategy.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least five (5) years of experience in Salesforce development, including hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), APIs, and data modeling.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Experience with Salesforce Education Cloud or higher education implementations
Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud implementations (Aura/LWR)
Experience with MuleSoft or other enterprise middleware/integration platforms
Familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud, Einstein AI, or Agentforce capabilities
Experience developing solutions across multiple Salesforce clouds and working with system integrations.
