The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking full-time Adult and Pediatric Audiologists to join its growing team as Instructors of Audiology. This position involves providing comprehensive audiologic services in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief of Audiology and indirectly to other division chiefs within the department.
About (Department of Otolaryngology/Division of Audiology):
The Department of Otolaryngology at the Medical University of South Carolina consistently ranks as the best in the state of South Carolina and 23rd nationally (2024 US News and World Report). The Department of Otolaryngology is chaired by Robert Labadie, MD, PhD who believes the best asset of the department is the people who create the department’s culture. Those people include 20 residents, 6 fellows, and 12 clinical research fellows. The Division of Audiology currently has over 20 full-time Audiologists, offering services for both children and adults. The division currently has locations in North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, and downtown Charleston. The Audiology clinic is equipped for diagnostic hearing and balance testing, hearing aid dispensing, cochlear implants, and complete treatment programs.
Required Qualifications:
Doctor of Audiology (AuD) from an accredited institution
South Carolina Audiology licensure (or eligibility)
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A)
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred
Position Highlights:
Will practice primarily at our downtown Charleston location + one satellite clinic
Will complete diagnostic audiologic evaluations
Amplification selection, fitting, and management
Flexible scheduling options, including an optional 4-day work week
Osseo integrated device evaluation and programming
Inpatient and outpatient diagnostic testing in coordination with ENT physicians
Supervise 4th year Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) students
Provide instruction to Otolaryngology residents and interns
Participation in Audiology seminars and departmental conferences
