The Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) is inviting applications for a pool of qualified fixed-term part-time Lecturers to teach one or more courses for international adult learners. VIPP, as part of MSU International Studies and Programs (ISP) provides long-term and short-term non-degree certificate programs to international visitors for professional development and capacity building. We invite professional applicants who can teach innovative courses that help other professionals develop core competencies and knowledge needed for the changing working environment. This includes but is not limited to: academic and professional English writing, American culture and society, intercultural communication, global awareness including global challenges and UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), understanding and applications of new technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence (AI), leadership and Human Resources management, management and supply chain. Each course is typically 21 total instructional hours over seven weeks, making up a half-semester. Appointments are initially for one course paid in a lump sum, and may be renewed based on funding, scheduling need and performance. Applicants in this pool will be reviewed throughout the year when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy, to begin as early as summer semester 2026.

Required Degree
Masters
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree or equivalent in any field
Minimum three years of teaching and/or professional work experience with international students and communities
Evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness: a sample course syllabus or sample of quantitative or qualitative data from teaching evaluations
Basic instructional technology skills, including navigating through course management systems such as D2L
Desired Qualifications
Experience or interest in working with individuals from diverse cultures
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
