Those teaching more than five credits are temporary part-time employees and can move to the faculty salary schedule.This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments? access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).ABOUT THE POSITIONS AND THE BSAM PROGRAM AT NORMANDALENormandale Community College is seeking part-time faculty members to join the Business Department to teach in the area of business software. Faculty teaching in the Business Software and Administrative Management program affiliate with the Business Department, which is committed to providing a core foundation of business principles to students of all backgrounds. The BSAM curriculum supports the Business Software and Administrative Management Associate of Applied Science degree and certificate, as well as other Business degrees and certificates. Valuing a diversity of approaches and backgrounds in its faculty members, the Business Department encourages a participatory culture that affirms the engaged role faculty play in service to the college. Those hired into these positions will be expected to advance this goal through culturally responsive teaching, identifying barriers to success for students of color, and proposing effective solutions to eliminate those barriers.Minimum Qualifications (all three requirements must be met)Education RequirementBachelor's degree in business, management, business education or marketing.Occupational Experience RequirementTwo full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in business office applications and operations.Recency RequirementOne year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in business administration or business management; orCoursework beyond the bachelor?s degreePost-secondary teaching experienceMicrosoft Office Specialist Certification or five years? experience using the full suite of Microsoft Office applicationsInstructional or work experience in one or more of the following areas: project management, business analytics, business applications of artificial intelligence, or workforce developmentExperience serving diverse and underserved populationsVerifiable paid work experience in the field of businessAn understanding of the community college mission and its unique student populationExperience in online learning and/or course delivery using web-based course management systems such as D2LCommitment to applied and experiential learning in and outside of the classroom.Experience teaching courses with innovative teaching practices to support the success and retention of underrepresented students, including students of color, first-generation students, and Pell eligible studentsEvidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusionDemonstrated commitment to collegial activities - service on committees, developing assessment, and guiding students.To be qualified for this position, you must meet all of the minimum qualifications.
