The Content & Digital Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy that strengthens Alcuin’s brand, advances donor engagement, and supports institutional priorities. This role combines compelling storytelling, strategic marketing, and digital media innovation to create meaningful, high-impact content that resonates with the Alcuin community.

This position balances traditional content development (video, photography, social media, written materials) with forward-thinking digital strategies (AI-powered content insights, audience analytics, SEO, and multimedia engagement tools). The Content & Digital Media Manager collaborates across departments to ensure consistency, authenticity, and effectiveness in all messaging while proactively exploring emerging content trends and best practices.

JOB SCOPE

This role leads the development and execution of digital content initiatives that align with Alcuin School’s marketing and advancement goals. With independent decision-making authority, it collaborates across departments to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and storytelling while proactively shaping digital strategies to maximize audience impact.

This role also serves as the primary content strategist and digital brand steward, overseeing Alcuin’s social media platforms, digital fundraising communications, and community engagement messaging.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy across digital platforms, ensuring consistent and impactful storytelling.
• Produce high-quality multimedia content, including videos, photography, and graphic design assets, to support fundraising, marketing, and school-wide initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Admissions and Advancement teams to create content that highlights the student experience, parent engagement, faculty innovation, and donor impact.
• Optimize content using advanced SEO strategies, ensuring Alcuin’s digital presence is highly visible, discoverable, and tailored to target audiences.
• Leverage AI-powered automation and video editing tools to enhance content efficiency and quality.
• Manage and grow the school’s social media presence, developing campaigns that drive engagement and brand awareness.
• Ensure consistency in institutional messaging across all digital and print communications.
• Stay current on best practices in digital storytelling, emerging trends, and audience engagement strategies to keep Alcuin’s content fresh and impactful.
• Advise school leadership on content strategy, audience trends, and digital innovations that enhance brand visibility and engagement.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

• Attends professional development in content and digital media management and related areas by attending seminars, workshops, etc.
• Attends school functions and meetings as outlined in the Employee Handbook, employment contract or as required
• Other initiatives and tasks assigned by the AHOS for Institutional Advancement or the Head of School
• Carpool or other help needed when Admin team is short-handed

Required:

• Ability to provide documents verifying authorization to work in the U.S.
• Must pass Criminal Background Checks, Reference Checks and Drug Testing
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Direct experience in content development, advanced digital media management, and SEO.
• Proficiency in multimedia production, including video editing, photography, and graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Proficiency in AI-driven content automation tools, digital analytics, audience segmentation, and behavior-driven content optimization.
• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands
• Ability to develop, produce, and distribute content across various multimedia formats, integrating traditional storytelling with future-driven technologies.
• Must be able to work in an environment of constant demands and frequent interruptions
• Ability to interact and communicate appropriately and professionally with parents, students, and colleagues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Adherence to the highest ethical standards with the ability to act with discretion and diplomacy
• Sound judgment in maintaining the strictest of confidentiality of sensitive information

Preferred:

• 3-5 years of experience in managing multiple complex content and digital media projects and platforms
• Experience in a non-profit setting
