GENERAL DUTIES
I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
We are seeking a talented Front End Web Developer to join our team at Hunter School of Arts and Sciences. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining exceptional User Experience (U/X) and User Interface (U/I) designs. This role involves collaborating closely with backend developers to implement and enhance the ???frontend??? or ???client side??? of web applications.
Reporting to the IT Academic Technology Director of Web Services, the IT Sr. Associate???s responsibilities include the following:
Design and maintain U/X and U/I for the school???s web applications.
Assist in planning, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of web solutions tailored to the school???s needs.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, code solutions, and conduct tests for functionality and usability.
Develop web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure visual consistency and dynamic user interactions.
Convert standard web pages into responsive designs compatible with all platforms and browsers.
Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and ADA 508 standards for accessibility.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of the College???s EAB Navigate Artificial Intelligence pilot program.
Support the Web and Application Services team with content management for the College???s website.
Enforce Hunter College brand and style guidelines throughout all web applications.
Maintain clear documentation and procedures to facilitate smooth operations.
Conduct training sessions for applications managed by the Web and Application Services team, including the College???s WordPress CMS.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
Demonstrated English Language proficiency
A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient in PHP, HTML, CSS, and WordPress CMS.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft interfaces, particularly CUNYFirst ERP; API development; SEO; SSL and PCI Compliance coding.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, JavaScript, Django, Angular, React, SQL (JQuery, MS-SQL, MySQL), and VoIP integration.
Knowledge of CUNY-specific applications such as EAB Navigate, BlackBoard LMS, and BrightSpace LMS is preferred.
Experience in developing mobile applications using cross-platform frameworks (Xamarin, Node.js, React Native, Flutter).
Proficient in front-end CSS frameworks like Bootstrap and Tailwind CSS.
Experience with web server management (IIS, Nginx, Apache) and container platforms (Docker).
Experience in technical writing.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Creative and non-traditional approach to problem-solving.

COMPENSATION
IT Sr Associate - Levels 1-- $91,298 (salary subject to change based on new contract implementation and CUNY service history.)
