The Open 6G R&D center at the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things is in search of Research Engineers to drive infrastructure development, management, and the activities of the Open6G Open Testing and Integration Center (OTIC), officially recognized by the O-RAN ALLIANCE. Northeastern University Open6G is home to Colosseum, the world's most powerful wireless network emulator with hardware-in-the-loop hosted at the Northeastern University Innovation Campus in Burlington, MA. It can emulate up to 65,536 100 MHz-RF channels, support repeatable research and dynamic spectrum sharing, create custom scenarios and terrains, be accessed through open APIs, and help to advance artificial intelligence and machine learning. We are in search of Research Engineers with deep expertise in RF signal processing and software development lifecycle management. Responsibilities include leading the management and evolution of the Colosseum platform and coordinating the integration and testing of commercial cellular equipment. The candidate must have proficiency in multiple programming languages such as bash scripting, C++ and Python and comfort to operate within a Linux environment. The candidate must be willing to work in a multidisciplinary environment across domains of RF, computer engineering and networking systems. Qualifications
Applicant must have a BS (preferably MS) in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or equivalent;
three years or more of experience with progressively more responsible, independent engineering work.
Development Experience with bash scripting, C++ and Python programming languages.
Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment frameworks (CI/CD) such as Jenkins and Ansible, and with software-defined radios is a plus.
