The Human Resources Department at the Dalton School seeks a Human Resources Intern for the Spring/Summer 2026. This role will provide support to Dalton's HR team in day-to-day administrative tasks, recruiting & onboarding activities, employee records/HRIS, employment trainings and special HR projects. This internship offers hands-on exposure to human resources in an educational setting and is an excellent opportunity for someone pursuing a career in HR, organizational development, or related fields.
Responsibilities:
Support onboarding and new-hire orientation: prepare documentation, update HRIS/employee records, ensure proper completion of forms.
Maintain and update employee information in HR systems/databases (HRIS), including filing, data entry, tracking employee status changes.
Provide administrative support to the HR team: prepare documents and correspondence, manage HR-related calendars, respond to basic employee/department inquiries, assist with events.
Contribute to HR projects: e.g., mandatory trainings, employee handbook & policy updates, leave administration, etc.
Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive HR information at all times.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate brings enthusiasm, flexibility, and a deep commitment to learning. Key qualifications include:
Currently enrolled in (or recent graduate of) a Bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
Strong interest in human resources and eagerness to learn in a hands-on setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational ability and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with HRIS or applicant tracking systems and AI tools is a plus.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and acting with discretion.
