The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to projects in computational imaging research, with a focus on algorithm development, machine learning, and computational modeling with applications to biomedicine. The position is limited to the summer term (three months).
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and implementation of machine learning models for medical and imaging data analysis.
Support algorithm design, optimization, and validation tasks, including work on neural networks, computer vision techniques, and structured data integration.
Contribute to research on advanced topics such as generative AI models, foundation models, and plug-and-play priors as applicable to computational imaging.
Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and result interpretation under faculty supervision.
Assist with manuscript preparation and documentation of research findings.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Master?s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from an accredited U.S. institution.
Proficiency in programming languages including Python, PyTorch, C, C++, and MATLAB, and familiarity with Linux environments.
Research experience in machine learning (especially generative AI), computer vision, or algorithm development with applications in computational imaging.
At least one peer-reviewed research publications in relevant fields such as machine learning, computer vision, or computational methods.
