The Department of Radiology at the University of Minnesota Medical School is searching for a full-time radiologist to serve as Vice Chair of Imaging Informatics, a key leadership role in the Department. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the Departmentâ™s clinical, educational and research use of imaging information technology to improve imaging workflow, enhance patient care and physician wellness and drive innovation in the field.
Qualifications
Established Associate or Full Professor rank on any track
Demonstrated successful leadership experience
Excellent communication skills and problem solving, track record of working well with others, active listening
In depth knowledge of IT programs existing and under development, as well as radiologistsâ™ needs for them
Minimum 3 years experience in the development and implementation of Information Technology systems within healthcare, with specific experience in radiology systems
Certification in informatics preferred
Minimum requirements are an MD or equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota, board certified or board eligible status, completion of ACGME accredited radiology training
Prefer Body Imaging, Breast Imaging, Pediatric Radiology or Neuroradiology subspecialty, although all subspecialties are welcome to apply
Responsibilities
Clinical Imaging IT Leadership
Partner with M Health Fairview (hospital system) on developing an Enterprise IT strategy for imaging, evaluate existing structure, offerings in the market and develop a plan for continued development and enhancement of the imaging IT framework
Drive the strategy and plan to implementation in a timely manner
Responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of all imaging IT systems including PACS, voice recognition, EHR integration, add on softwares including AI and remote access functionality
Represent the Department of Radiology and the faculty needs in this structure
Technology Optimization
Ensure faculty are aware of all existing technologies available to them, owned or in use by the Department of Radiology, the Medical School and M Health Fairview
Maintain oversight of all software resources purchased by the Department and their use
Evaluate faculty IT requests comparing against any existing resources within the department, M Health Fairview and the broader University before pursuing new purchases
IT Innovation
Work with IT, Radiology faculty, and other Medical School experts to evaluate, govern and deploy IT tools related to imaging such as radiomics platforms and AI
