Postdoctoral Research Scientist
The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) of Columbia University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to conduct research in the fields of glaciology and climate data science. The successful candidate would join a project aimed at using machine learning and artificial intelligence to emulate ice flow physics in ice sheet models. The project team consists of Jonathan Kingslake (LDEO), David Porter (LDEO), Robin Bell (LDEO), and Laure Zanna (New York University). Our initial objectives include developing work flows to simulate ice flow over high-resolution basal topography with physics-based models and to emulate this process using machine learning algorithms. This project is funded by a new science and technology center based at Columbia University called L
