Position Details

The Department of Philosophy at The City College of New York (CCNY) of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, anticipated to begin in Fall 2026. The position will involve research and teaching introductory-level undergraduate courses as well as elective courses in the applicant?s area of expertise.

Area of Specialization:

Candidates' AOS must include at least one of these three:

(a) philosophy of cognitive science;

(b) ethics (but not Kantian or biomedical ethics);

(c) social/political philosophy, preferably with a historical background.

Candidates must be prepared to develop and teach a course in AI, Ethics, and Society.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in Philosophy

Preferred Qualification:

Evidence of teaching and research excellence.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States.

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $76,937 - $94,909
