The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University located in Palisades, New York, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist position focusing on applying AI/ML methods to the analysis and understanding of marine heatwaves (MHWs). This postdoctoral researcher will work with Columbia Climate School and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory researchers, in collaboration with data scientists from Learning the Earth with AI and Physics (LEAP), an NSF-funded Science and Technology Center at Columbia University. Responsibilities will include: Analyze data from observations and model simulations of extreme MHWs. Apply AI/ML methods to unravel mechanisms of MHWs, their atmospheric and oceanic drivers in present and future climate. Testi
