OPEN RANK FACULTY – UT School of Public Health San Antonio

The University of Texas School of Public Health San Antonio (“School”) was established in 2022 as a collaboration between The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio) and The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), both of which are designated Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) by the U.S. Department of Education. The School provides academic instruction in public health and serves as a focus of research and community engagement activities directed toward promoting and maintaining community health. The School is seeking candidates with demonstrable academic skills for faculty positions within the four departments of Environmental and Occupational Health; Health, Behavior and Society; Health Policy and Health Services Administration; and Quantitative and Qualitative Health Sciences. The School’s academic programs portfolio includes master’s and doctoral levels in public health.

The School welcomes faculty candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence. Applications for appointment to all ranks (assistant, associate, or full professor) and tracks (tenure-track, tenured, or non-tenure track) will be reviewed and considered; the level and type of faculty appointment will be based on the candidate’s professional and academic experiences.

Qualifications

• A doctorate in public health or a related field.
• Prior teaching experience at the graduate level.
• Demonstrated ability to independently conduct both practical and academic research.
• Expertise and/or experience in issues pertaining to historically underserved populations are desirable but not required.
