POSITION SUMMARY

Radiology Associates of Florida (RAF) is currently seeking a fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist to join our esteemed team in the panhandle division, specifically to serve Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Sacred Heart Hospital, boasting 566 beds, stands as a cornerstone of healthcare excellence in the region, serving as the flagship hospital for Ascension in the Panhandle of Florida. Recognized as a level-I Adult & Pediatric Trauma Center and a comprehensive stroke center, Sacred Heart Hospital is committed to expanding its impact within the community, evident in its ongoing investment in infrastructure, including the construction of three new dedicated Interventional Radiology (IR) suites.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of three interventionists and three IR Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), all committed to delivering exceptional care and supporting the growth of the IR service at Sacred Heart. The role entails performing a diverse range of IR procedures, contributing diagnostically, and driving the expansion of the IR program. Anticipated responsibilities encompass approximately 65-75% IR workload, covering procedures such as angiography, embolization, Interventional Oncology, ablations, uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS), and more.

LOCAL PRACTICE AND COMMUNITY OVERVIEW

RAF is the largest radiology practice in Florida. We serve the most prestigious, established health systems in the state, including on the east and west coasts, the Florida Panhandle, and the Keys. Our scale affords our practice stability and affords our radiologists flexibility in study mix and scheduling. We also recognize that scale alone does not beget excellence. We are quality-oriented, and we practice radiology at the cutting edge, encouraging subspecialty-level interpretations across the practice, and facilitating collaboration and consultation between our radiologists. Our state-of-the-art IT suite includes universal PACS across the practice, AI tools, and integrated doc-to-doc communication widgets. 

Our practice is locally and democratically led, with decisions vested in the hands of the group at large, rather than in a few founders or a small group of shareholders. In Pensacola, our radiologists have the opportunity to join the faculty of Florida State University where we provide diagnostic and interventional radiology instruction to the medical students. Pediatric residents from University of Florida who are doing residencies in Pensacola take pediatric radiology electives with our radiologists. We are the teaching physicians for the University of South Florida Department of Radiology in Tampa. Our radiologists who are not living in Tampa may apply to be adjunct faculty in this department.  In Sarasota, our physicians’ staff the Florida State University College of Medicine, hosting medical students in their 3rd and 4th years. We also invite residents from the FSU Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residency programs to rotate in our departments.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

•       Candidates must be a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy and be residency            trained in the practice of Diagnostic Radiology 
•       Board eligible or certified by American Board of Radiology or the American            Osteopathic Board of Radiology
•       Subspecialty certification in IR
•       A current license or the ability to be licensed in the state of FL is required
