Position Summary
The University at Buffalo (UB), a premier, research-intensive public university, invites inquiries and applications for Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG+) Scholars in various fields for two-year terms. PRODiG+ is designed to achieve two primary goals: (1) increasing the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates. The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences specifically solicits applications from candidates in Computer Science and Engineering, with a focus on a broad range of research specializations, including:
- Trustworthy AI and machine learning and its societal impacts
- Cybersecurity and related disciplines and its applications to privacy, and hardware and software security
- Software Engineering and Programming Languages with a focus on software development methodologies, programming language theory, and software verification and validation
- Robotics and Autonomous Systems such as the development of intelligent robotic systems, autonomous vehicles, and human-robot interaction technologies.
The department emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, leveraging partnerships with various academic disciplines, research institutions, and industries. It is also dedicated to addressing societal challenges through innovative and impactful research.
SUNY PRODiG+ scholars hired into SEAS will have a strong record of research and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across SEAS. They will receive both individual and cohort mentoring and will benefit from professional development opportunities and programming. The candidate should have PhD in hand no later than May 2025 and should have received their PhD no earlier than May 2021.

Minimum Qualifications
- Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship;

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who are:
- Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows.
- From a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelors degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.
