Adjunct Assistant Professor or Adjunct Lecturer - Computer Information Systems

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Medgar Evers College (MEC) of the City University of New York (CUNY) seeks experienced and dynamic adjunct faculty members to join the Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) in teaching CIS courses. The ideal candidate will bring professional expertise, academic rigor, and a commitment to providing students with a high-quality educational experience.

Teach assigned undergraduate CIS courses, such as database management, programming, networking, information systems analysis, cybersecurity, or related subjects.

-Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that meet the course objectives and departmental standards.

-Prepare and update course syllabi, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials as needed.

-Maintain regular office hours to provide academic support and mentoring to students.

-Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and other evaluations, and provide timely, constructive feedback.

-Stay updated on developments in the field of CIS and incorporate relevant advancements into course content.

-Collaborate with departmental faculty and staff to ensure alignment with program goals and accreditation standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

Adjunct Lecturer

Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully. A Master's degree (preferred) in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Relevant professional experience in CIS or related fields.

-Previous teaching experience, preferably at the college or university level.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.

-Familiarity with online learning platforms and technology integration in education is a plus.

-Expertise in emerging technologies and trends in CIS, such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, or data analytics.

-Experience working with diverse student populations.

-Knowledge of curriculum development and innovative teaching methodologies.

$100.00 Per Hour

Adjunct Lecturer:

$91.67 Per Hour
