Position Summary

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at MSU is seeking a fixed-term Instructor for an undergraduate CSE course, for one semester only. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and programming education, specifically focusing on C programming. The Teaching Specialist will deliver high-quality instruction, develop engaging course materials, and foster an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.

Required Degree

Masters -Computer Science or related field

Desired Degree

Doctorate -Computer Science or related field

Minimum Requirements

• A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field is required.
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in C programming.
• A strong commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse learners effectively.
• Experience with educational technologies and tools used in programming instruction.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.

Desired Qualifications

Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has robust research programs in several areas, including AI, Autonomous Driving, Biometrics, Computer Vision, security & privacy, Data Science, Evolutionary Computation, Machine Learning, Networking, and Software Engineering.
