Description The AI, Analytics, and Future of Work Initiative at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business invites applications for a Pre-/Post-Doctoral Fellowship. The Initiative is dedicated to advancing research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and the evolving nature of work, with a focus on insights that inform business strategy and policy. We prioritize student learning, thought leadership, and engagement with practitioners and policymakers. More information about the Initiative can be found at https://futureofwork.georgetown.edu.
This fellowship aims to support scholars in conducting research on pressing topics related to AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. Fellows will primarily contribute to the Initiative's thought leadership by collaborating with faculty on research projects and developing new inquiries aligned with the Initiative's objectives. While certain research themes have been identified, fellows are encouraged to pursue innovative questions. Fellows will also play an active role in the Initiative's convening and outreach efforts, such as organizing workshops, panels, and conferences. The candidate's primary supervisor will be the Initiative's Director, Professor Alberto Rossi (Alberto.Rossi@georgetown.edu).
Qualifications
For Pre-Doctoral Candidates:
A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, economics, computer science, data analytics) and a strong interest in pursuing doctoral studies.
Proven research and analytical skills, with experience in academic research, preferred.
For Post-Doctoral Candidates:
A Ph.D. in a relevant field or the expectation of defending their dissertation by August 2025.
Demonstrated or high potential for publishing research in top-tier academic outlets on topics related to AI, analytics, or the future of work.
In both cases, preference will be given to candidates who have a proficient background in computer science and data analytics.
Position Details
Start Date: August 2025
Duration: Two years (a one-year term may be considered upon request).
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct collaborative and independent research aligned with the Initiative's objectives.
Disseminate research findings through academic publications, conferences, and policy engagements.
Assist in organizing Initiative events, such as workshops, conferences, and panels.
Contribute to the Initiative's outreach and engagement activities with policymakers and practitioners.

The projected base salary range is $75,000-$100,000. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
Fellows will also have access to research funding and additional resources to support their scholarly activities. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research on AI, analytics, and the future of work while engaging with a dynamic community at Georgetown University.
