Job Description: The Executive Director of Digital Strategy and Operations is the lead for digital communications, marketing and systems for Advancement and External Affairs. This role creates and manages a high-ROI digital infrastructure that includes platforms and systems for online giving, email marketing, event registration sites, AEA websites, mobile technologies and other related areas. This position leads a team of digital professionals responsible for the day-to-day management of these systems, alumni/donor engagement and the execution of communications and other tactics using those systems. They create and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with AEA departments and communications staff in the schools, colleges and units to ensure effective and consistent use of AEA digital strategy, systems, processes and operations platforms. This position is critical in creating a cadence of improvement for digital platforms to create operational efficiencies and ensure timely and accurate data synchronization.

Responsibilities:
Develop and manage AEA digital strategy for online giving, email marketing, event registration sites, AEA websites, mobile technologies and other related areas, creating a high-ROI digital infrastructure.
Ensure strategies and tactics align with University digital strategy.
Develop and execute a cadence of improvement for all platforms and lead efforts to create data synchronization, CRM integrations and operational efficiencies. This includes but is not limited to centralizing and transferring data through APIs and other automated processes and leveraging AI capabilities.
Serve as the primary Advancement Communications and Marketing liaison with AEA Services, Systems and Intelligence and Technical Support Services.
Lead divisional efforts regarding digital strategy and provide subject-matter expertise related to the platforms and processes in the digital strategy and operations portfolio.
Implement processes and other tactics to ensure close partnership with central teams and AEA staff in the schools, colleges and units to improve their use of the above digital platforms and technologies for fundraising and alumni engagement.
Develop, socialize, improve and enforce digital best practices.
Ensure content presented on digital platforms adheres to compatibility and accessibility standards as well as developed best practices.
Develop and implement training on the platforms in the digital strategy and operations portfolio.
Direct, train and supervise the digital strategy and operations team, consisting of digital engagement and digital services directors, managers and specialists who are responsible for the day-to-day implementation, operation and systems for online giving, email marketing, event registration sites, AEA websites, mobile technologies and other related areas.
Manage expenditures for digital efforts against allocated budget.
Monitor contracts for team's digital services and platforms and prepare budget recommendations based on projected renewal costs.
Recommend cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements where possible.
