Teach undergraduate and graduate students in sport administration/sport management courses. The Department of Exercise Science provides undergraduate concentrations in fitness and wellness, pre-physical therapy, pre-occupational therapy, pre-athletic training, pre-physician assistant, sport administration and physical education teacher licensure and concentrations in adapted physical education, elementary/middle physical education, lifetime wellness and sport management at the master’s level.
Tenure-track assistant professor in the Exercise Science department. Teach undergraduate classes that will include but are not limited to: Introduction to Sport Management, Facilities Planning and Management, Sports Ethics, Revenue Generation in Sports, and graduate classes that may include but not limited to Leadership in Sport, Legal Issues, and Field Experience as well as graduate classes that may include but are not limited to: Leadership in Sport, Legal Issues, Risk Management and Sport Marketing. Evaluate current programs of study and make recommendations for updates and changes, lead the division through the process of accreditation with COSMA, supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, support students in research, serve students, the department, college, university and community in a supporting and professional manner, provide leadership in and of the profession of sport management and exercise science, develop a research agenda and collaborate with departmental and university faculty in research and grant writing to pursue external funding, and serve on departmental, college and university committees. This is a full-time, nine-month position with potential for summer teaching.
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned doctorate degree in Sport Management, Sports Administration, Sport Studies or closely related field from an accredited university. Documented teaching experience sport management/sport administration at the undergraduate and graduate levels as a fully credentialed instructor. Evidence of teaching excellence. Record of scholarly work including national presentations and/or peer reviewed publications. Experience in teaching online courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
Documented minimum three years full-time teaching experience in Sport Management, Sports Administration. Documented success in teaching and managing undergraduate and graduate courses in the online format using D2L or other current on-line delivery system. Experience in course development and assessment. Documented evidence of grant procurement and sponsored research. Documented evidence of quality teaching, research and service in the profession. Documented experience related to program accreditation, strategic planning and development of program partnerships. Documented experience with research into applications of AI and/or experience integrating AI into instruction.
