About UC Blue Ash
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati. The Department of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science (MPCS) has 29 full-time faculty members who are committed to teaching in a diverse environment. Our department currently offers 2-year associate degrees in Information Technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College Department of MPCS invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position of Information Technology (IT), beginning August 15, 2025. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Instructors are required to teach in-person classes, which may include evening courses. Some classes may also be offered with online or hybrid options. Class sizes normally range from 15-30 students.
Essential Functions
Teach IT courses such as Systems Administration, Introduction to Networking, Programming, Web Development, and Databases. There will be opportunities to teach courses in Artificial Intelligence.
Participate in the governance and committee work of the Department, College, and University such as but not limited to search committees, the Technology Committee, and the Faculty Senate Academic Affairs Committee.
Engage in ongoing professional development in the discipline of information technology and/or the scholarship of teaching and learning such as attending workshops/seminars/conferences, presenting at seminars/conferences, and publishing articles.
Faculty members will be expected to use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems, as well as other relevant classroom technology.
Hold regular office hours to meet with students.
Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
There will be an opportunity for some release time for program directing in Information Technology, which would include duties such as adapting and maintaining the IT program, coordinating textbook selection, serving as the program contact person for advising, and working on noncredit offerings such as earning micro credentials and other short-term recognitions that will suit professionals in the field.
Minimum Requirements
Prior to the effective date of the appointment, all of the following are required: ? A Master?s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and ? One (1) academic year of teaching experience in IT, Computer Science, or related field at the college level.
