The Chief Systems Architect of the AR/ AI Simulation Facility at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU SOM) will lead the design, development, and implementation of a state-of-the-art, fully immersive augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) medical training environment. In addition to developing and maintaining this first-of-its-kind facility, the Chief Systems Architect will also dedicate 2 5% of their role to teaching, using the facility to train medical students in cutting-edge technologies, including AI, to ensure they are competitive in both contemporary and future medical landscapes. This role focuses on technological innovation, with a strong educational component to shape the next generation of medical professionals.
