RESEARCH COORDINATOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Administration (50%)

• Facilitate coordination amongst various researchers, stakeholders, and regulatory organizations (meeting planning, agenda setting, , documenting minutes, maintaining correspondence and submitting documents) for projects.
• Manage projects across the research team through deadline tracking, goal setting, and documenting progress. Leading team meetings and ensuring the team appropriately prioritizes the tasks needed to maintain efficient progress. 
• Support the team in the development of grant applications, including drafting documents, timelines, and figures.
• Support the completion of required regulatory documents and other regulatory tasks as needed (i.e., Institutional Review Board, National Institute of Health, VA Health System Research).
• Support acquisition and curation of research data (electronic health records, claims data, surveys) from various organizations.
• Develop, administer, and maintain research protocols, policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with PIs and other researchers in all activities related to initiation of new funded and unfunded studies.
• Assist in various aspects of manuscript drafting including literature review, budget drafting and adherence, and reference database management.
   

Research Execution and Management (50%)

Quantitative Analytics

• Assist in data management of various data sources (electronic health records, claims data, REDCap).
• Collaborate with PIs, researchers, community-stakeholders, statisticians, and data scientists to meet research milestones as outlined for specific research projects. 
• Assist in the development of predictive analytics using observational databases to inform next step of studies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of artificial intelligence and natural language processing algorithms to enable improved patient care.

Qualitative Research

• Assist in study participant screening, identification, recruitment, and consenting. 
• Assist in managing and obtaining participant information, developing and administering research material, and collecting necessary data.
• Assist in conducting focus groups and interviews with participants to obtain relevant information for pertinent studies.
• Engage with community stakeholders to understand their priorities and implement them through research initiatives.

The starting salary for this position is $60-75K 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Must be documented on all application materials)

• Bachelors (BA/BS) degree with at least 5 years of experience, or advanced degree and 3 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 9 years. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters (MA/MS/MPH) degree in public health, sociology, psychology or related allied health field from an accredited college or university 
• Demonstrated skill in study coordination, project management, or administrative work. 
• Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills, experience managing multiple tasks and project elements with accuracy and attention to detail. 
• Prior research experience should include working on observational, health services, or data extraction/chart review studies.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, human subject protection, and federal regulations related to clinical research. 
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel (or equivalent tools such as Google Docs/Sheets/Slides), virtual meeting platforms (e.g. Teams) and reference management tools. 
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
