Description: Princeton University seeks to hire Postdoctoral Research Associates as part of a new initiative exploring the applications and implications of Artificial Intelligence. The AI for Accelerating Invention initiative uses AI to fundamentally change the process of invention - from design, to simulation, to fabrication, to control - tackling challenges such as containing plasma, revolutionizing material design and structure, and bioengineering applications. Candidates should have recently received or are about to receive a Ph.D. or doctorate degree and have a strong interest and track record in designing, understanding, or engineering of large AI models, or their applications in science and engineering. Applicants may also be interested in the Natural and Artificial Minds initiative, which is also seeking Postdoctoral Research Associates in a parallel job posting. The Postdoctoral Research Associates will be appointed through the Center for Statistics and Machine Learning with the possibility for affiliation with other academic departments and/or units relevant to their work and will receive a competitive salary, benefits, office and equipment, compute resources, and yearly research support. Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal. The fellowship commences on or about September 1, 2024.
