We are particularly interested in reviewing applications from candidates whose research aligns with one of the following University of Wisconsin RISE initiatives:

Some possible areas of interest relevant to RISE-THRIVE include health informatics, health information sharing in communities, health information seeking, and computational and information technologies in relation to children and/or elderly populations.
RISE-EARTH will focus around two themes. The other will be aimed at building sustainable energy and technical systems - for instance, developing new clean energy technologies and ways to capture and store carbon.
Some possible areas of interest relevant to RISE-EARTH would include climate information, libraries and community resilience, and emergency/crisis informatics.
RISE-AI
Over the next three to five years, RISE will accelerate the growth of UW-Madison's network of AI innovators, adding up to 50 new faculty positions at all levels across campus to complement regular hiring. Wisconsin RISE stands to more than double campus investment in AI and related fields than could otherwise have been achieved. New AI-focused faculty will join schools, colleges, centers, institutes and other units across campus.
Some possible areas relevant to RISE-AI would include human-center AI, policy analysis and policy-making around AI, and applied AI. |
