The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is seeking outstanding candidates with a strong background in inorganic chemistry for a tenure-system faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. While the area of expertise is open, we especially welcome multidisciplinary research that integrates physical, materials, and inorganic chemistry to solve questions in energy, separations, nanotechnology, or biomedical technology. Experimental candidates who successfully integrate machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data-driven methods into their experimental portfolio are also sought-after. The candidate is expected to lead a strong and internationally recognized research program supported by extramural funding from federal and state agencies. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate level courses in the core curriculum and in the candidate's specialization area. In addition to research and teaching, the position involves service in the department and UT Dallas community.
The appointment commences for the fall 2025 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in Chemistry or a related field prior to employment, and post-doctoral experience. Applicants for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level should have a track record or research funding and productivity commensurate with the rank. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UT Dallas offers undergraduate degrees in chemistry and biochemistry and MS and PhD graduate degrees in chemistry. The department features state-of-the-art research space and facilities, which include High-Performance Computing, NMR Spectroscopy, Mass Spectrometry, X-ray Diffraction, Flow Cytometry, Molecular and Protein Analysis, Imaging and Histology, and Genome Center core facilities. The close proximity to other physical science departments at both UT Dallas and UT Southwestern Medical Center offers outstanding opportunities for collaborative research.
