Job Summary: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for an open-rank faculty position in exploring the theory and utility of digital twins. This position is part of the RISE-AI Initiative. We seek candidates specializing in a variety of domains related to digital twins, including but not limited to: 1) defining and illustrating the successful utility of digital twins through the integration of models and data for informed decision-making; 2) addressing fundamental physical, mathematical, statistical, and computational challenges in the bidirectional, real-time interaction between a physical system and its digital counterpart; 3) quantifying uncertainties
