We invite applications for a tenure track open rank (assistant or associate) professor position in Computer Science or Data Science within the Department of Computer and Data Science, to begin in August 2025. We plan to make two hires to support our growing department. The Computer Science program offers a firm foundation in the discipline while supporting many options for students’ future career paths. The Data Science program offers a foundational Data Science curriculum complemented with interdisciplinary learning paths. The department offers a broad range of courses including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and foundational math courses such as Calculus and Statistics. Applicants able to teach a variety of these courses and contribute to both programs are highly encouraged to apply. Both programs support students who come to our classrooms with various backgrounds and goals.
The Department of Computer and Data Science is also an integral part of an emerging graduate program in Applied Policy Analysis. This highly interdisciplinary master’s program brings together faculty from economics, data science, and public policy to work with students on advanced analytical tools to answer a variety of data-related policy questions while also effectively communicating how data science can be used to find potential solutions to policy-related issues. New hires with expertise in this area may have additional opportunities within the graduate program.
