Job Description Summary
Under general direction of the Manager of Administration and Finance (MAF), this position is responsible for pre- and post- award grant management including proposal development, budget development and related activities for a diverse sponsor portfolio. This will include set up of newly awarded projects, revised budgets, and updated yearly budgets in financial systems with set up of all new budget journals, reallocation journals, and budget reduction journals. Work with the MAF and PI's for accurate budget forecasting for all proposals, review all personnel grant effort with MAF, maintain salary grids for assigned portfolios, and meet with PI's regularly in accordance with reporting guidelines. Support post award staff with financial reporting and closeout. Participate in the annual budget process and monthly financial analysis for sponsored programs, including internally funded grants. Complete monthly budget and expense journal entries as needed. Reconcile and correct fiscal year activity such as suspense, anticipated resources, dependent tuition, residual balance transfers of clinical trials. This position reports directly to the Manager of Administration and Finance of the Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics.

Individual will manage Workday records and will take the lead on payroll activity in the Division to ensure all salaries are accurate and in compliance with University policies and procedures. Will take an active role throughout the budget process working closely with MAF. Verify that all payroll records, where applicable, adhere to NIH cap and in accordance with CPUP guidelines.

Duties

Participate in the review and approval of grants proposals, progress reports, research inventory system, material transfer agreements, animal and human subject protocols. Post-Award: Monitor grant expenditures for compliance, taking corrective actions as needed.

Participate in the annual budget process and monthly financial analysis for sponsored programs.

Support post award administrator with financial reporting and closeout and produce and distribute specialized research related financial reports for investigators. Update yearly budgets in financial systems with set up of all new budget journals, reallocation journals, and budget reduction journals

Process all required procedures from pre award submission, reviewing AIS for accuracy along with any corrections. Update biosketches and other support for all division research faculty

Complete monthly budget and expense journal entries as needed. Reconcile and correct fiscal year activity such as suspense, anticipated resources, dependent tuition, residual balance transfers of clinical trials

Provide support in the preparation of budgets with MAF and PI's. Work with MAF and PI's for accurate budget forecasting for all proposals; Review all personnel grant effort with Manager of Administration and Finance, maintain payroll grids for assigned faculty/staff and update Workday records.

Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required 3-5 years of experience preferred.
