Reporting to the Associate Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Institutional Effectiveness at Medgar Evers College (MEC), the Director of Institutional Research is responsible for all administrative functions in the Office of Institutional Research. The Office of Institutional Research conducts a wide range of quantitative analysis to guide policy and evaluate the College administrative processes and academic programs. The Director of Institutional Research will be responsible for the collection, management, and organization of data to support the analytic and reporting needs of MEC and those of the Central Offices of The City University of New York (CUNY) known as the University. The Director will lead the Office of Institutional Research in the provision of requested information for mandatory federal, state, and city reporting, and support the submission of grant and contract applications and major institutional projects. The Director and the Office of Institutional Research staff will work closely with the Enrollment Management Offices at MEC and the University.
The job function of the Director of Institutional Research will include, but not limited to:
-Analyze data and present the results to support program development, evaluation, and decision-making for department/unit administrators and senior leadership.
-Employ as an essential professional toolbox skill Artificial Intelligence (AI) to complement qualitative, statistical, and data analysis, and data analytics to inform processes and decision making at the College.
-Participate in and provide data support for the annual Performance Management Process (PMP), strategic plan, and budget for the College.
-Produce and maintain Medgar Evers College Fact Book and Dashboard profiling the College???s key performance indicators and the provision of other institution annual profiles for departments and units as needed.
-Produce and/or disseminate faculty and staff surveys and report the results for institutional use.
-Direct activities in the design, collection and analysis of national, commercial and in-house student survey data at various points of the student experience and the provision of college-wide assessment surveys.
-Develop institutional research infrastructure to expand and maintain accurate database in the Medgar Evers College Office of Institutional Research.
-Monitor the CUNY Institution Research Database.
-Provide institutional data/information for the development of grant and contract applications, and local, state, and federal governmental agencies, and accrediting organizations reporting requirements.
-Work closely with institutional researchers at the University through participation in the Institutional Research Council
-Manage the data processes of student evaluation of teaching and faculty workload reporting.
-Supervise the staff assigned to the Office of Institutional Research.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.
Other Qualifications:
-An advanced degree in a related field such as statistics, management information systems, economics or business.
-Experience in higher education administration.
-Efficient in time management.
-Experience developing and managing long term projects and programming initiatives.
-Proficient in survey design and administration, with substantial working experience with Qualtrics.
-A strong background in statistical analysis and database management systems and experience working with SQL, SAS/SPSS or R.
-Ability to put informative works into presentations.
-Excellent relationship-building skills to create partnerships with educators and stakeholders.
