Position Overview
The Department of Political Science at The Ohio State University invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. Successful applicants will have research and teaching interests in the area of AI in Politics and Society. Based in Columbus, Ohio, the position will begin in the fall of 2025. Preferred applicants will have the promise of a sustained and substantial body of work developing and utilizing data analytic and/or artificial intelligence tools for the analysis of socio-political questions. The position is open with respect to substantive focus or disciplinary subfield in Political Science.

Performance Objectives
Responsibilities of the position include:
Conduct research on advanced topics in the application of data analytics and AI to social scientific questions
Mentor and teach in these and related areas at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
Engage with interdisciplinary efforts focused on data analytics and/or AI
Education and Experience Requirements
Required: Applicants must be on track to complete their PhD on or before August 15, 2025, in a relevant field, and have the capacity to integrate methodological insights with substantive research demonstrated through a record of and/or promise of scholarly excellence.
Desired: Demonstrate the potential for securing external grant funding and mentoring undergraduate or graduate students. Preferred candidates will show a willingness to participate in interdisciplinary collaborative efforts. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to building a diverse intellectual community, in line with OSUs Shared Values (see below).
