Position Summary

•    Leader of the Statistics and AI/ML, Quantitative & Digital Sciences (AQDS) functions within Global Biometrics and Data Management for India-Philippines
•    Will be responsible for driving growth and excellence in alignment with corporate strategy and departmental roadmap, through recruitment and retention of talented statisticians and data scientists
•    Will provide leadership and guidance to innovation initiatives across GBDM India-Philippines

Position Responsibilities

•    Functional leader responsible for ensuring the provision of statistical and data science expertise in support of Therapy Areas, Programs and Projects in partnerships with colleagues at other sites as required
•    Accountable for the timely delivery of high quality, statistical and data science deliverables for assets in clinical development 
•    Expected to effectively manage utilization of resources to ensure planned activities and deliverables are adequately resourced and agreed milestones met, and that colleagues are fully engaged in supporting the business
•    Functional leadership ensuring use of agreed standards, compliance with specified training curriculum, adherence to relevant SOPS and processes and utilization of specified systems and software
•    Technical and functional development of statisticians and data scientists to ensure that hires are suitably qualified, that their skills are developed in line with business need, including necessary competencies such as team-working skills, ability to communicate technical and non-technical ideas, good time management and organizational skills, etc.
•    Influence and contributions to GBDM innovation projects, and help move engagements with vendors and internal stakeholders forward through strategic inputs as needed
•    Leadership in outreach activities building effective links with external industry, academic, professional, and other organizations
•    Establish and maintain links with GBDM Leadership Team members to ensure alignment in strategy and implementation

Minimum Qualifications

•    Postgraduate statistical/data science/technical qualification with extensive business experience.
•    Leadership, project management, resource management (staff and financial), administrative, and technical capabilities are required, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills in relating to colleagues and associates both inside and outside the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

•    PhD in a related quantitative (scientific, computational, biomedical, or engineering) discipline
•    Total of 15 plus years of work experience with at least 5 years of staff management experience
•    At least 8 years of experience in managing multiple, complex projects
•    Experience in building and growing a Statistics/Data Science/Analytics team with ability to work in a matrix environment 
•    Demonstrated project management and budget management expertise
•    Strong influencing skills and experience of working in complex stakeholder environments, including with regional and global teams.

Work Location Assignment: Mumbai/ Chennai, with some flexibility, in a hybrid model
