The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine is hiring a staff Research Scientist to conduct research on tobacco product marketing in social media. Duties will involve proposing research topics that are relevant to FDA regulation, collecting tobacco-related social media data from multiple platforms, conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses, and writing papers for publication. Quantitative analysis techniques will include automated topic modeling and using artificial intelligence and machine learning to recognize themes in social media posts. This position requires expertise in tobacco regulatory science and familiarity with R. The successful applicant also will recruit and supervise student researc
