The Department of Applied Physics at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a part-time, non-tenured adjunct instructor, from September 1, 2022 to December 22, 2022, with possible continuation.
The department of Applied Physics offers BS degrees in Applied Physics and Math & Physics. In addition, it runs general physics laboratory courses which service several of the engineering programs in the school.
We invite applicants to teach one or two laboratory course sections per semester. In particular, we presently seek instructors for PH-UY 2121 and PH-UY 2131 general physics lab courses. The responsibilities include teaching a 3-hour laboratory class and grading student reports. Successful applicant should have a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related discipline and a record of teaching introductory physics laboratories with hands-on experience. Candidates with a Master?s Degree and a strong teaching record at the college level or active industrial practice will also, be considered.

In compliance with NYC?s Pay Transparency Act, the contact hour rate for this position is $149.25. This rate is based on the collective bargaining agreement with Local 7902.
