Team Description:
The Integrated Infrastructure Observability team is responsible for developing, deploying, and utilizing new and emerging technologies to provide a comprehensive view of end-to-end infrastructure performance. The team's mission is to create a centralized, connected, real-time view of our core critical infrastructure systems. This will enable technology teams and stakeholders to better understand the behavior of our infrastructure derived from the data each system produces.
Our mission includes the publishing of common metrics about our core infrastructure systems which will be used to monitor and troubleshoot incidents more effectively, while also delivering valuable proactive insights and observations.
Role Description:
The team is looking to add a driven and energetic data analyst who will be responsible for the hands-on creation and utilization of new methods and applications focused on delivering the team's vision and goals. The team reports into the Enterprise Network Services department and focuses primarily on internetwork communications, performance management and service availability.
This role will be primary in developing new metrics and key indicators and reporting on their applicability for understanding the infrastructure. Qualified candidates will need to be very creative in their approach and recognize that all technology challenges can be met.
Responsibilities: â?¢ Effectively work with the PMO, Development, Product Management, Business and Technical Operations, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Networks and Architecture teams â?¢ Work within a team to create metrics, reports and insights utilizing the latest technology architecture. â?¢ Design and develop front-end and back-end applications using our existing technology stack (Python, Java, C++, Linux, Unix, Open-Source Platforms, and SOA) as well as new technologies for our next generation solutions. â?¢ Documents technical requirements, program and subsystem designs, resolutions to system problems, project task descriptions, effort estimates . â?¢ Perform deep technical analysis of derived data, reports and metrics to provide data-driven solutions and recommendations to Technology Management. â?¢ Will work within the Scrum Framework and Agile methodologies.
Qualifications: â?¢ Candidates must have a at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, decision science, or any other mathematically focused science discipline. A master's degree is a plus. â?¢ Candidates should have 1 - 5 years of hands-on work experience in a technical field preferably working with big-data solutions and application development. â?¢ Candidates must demonstrate a proficiency in code development in Python. Java, C++, Julia, R are a plus. Experience in SQL is recommended. â?¢ Candidates must be proficient in big data technologies and concepts, including but not limited to relational databases, cloud infrastructure, messaging middleware (i.e. Kafka) and data visualization concepts. â?¢ Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence experience is not required but is strongly preferred. â?¢ Candidates must be able to work in a collaborative globally diverse team environment, interacting with colleagues in various parts of North America, Europe, India, and Tokyo.
E xpected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
