The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and study team with a newly funded digital health project that uses artificial intelligence to create a "smart" chatbot that helps patients prepare for smoking cessation referrals. The CRC will be responsible for managing the technology updates, revisions, and field testing of a current chatbot developed and managed by the project's technology partner, Open Health Network. After technology revisions are complete, the CRC will work with the PI to oversee a randomized controlled trial testing the efficacy of the chatbot on smoking cessation outcomes for UCSF Health patients and SF Health Network patients.
