The Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) is a recently formed, rapidly growing institute within the Dean of Research. As an independent research institute, HAI's mission is to advance AI research, education, policy and practice to improve the human condition. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Industry Partnership Program Manager will identify and prioritize HAI's constituents and their needs and will work with partner organizations across campus and beyond, overseeing collaborations with faculty, fellows, researchers, and staff to create awareness and consideration for engaging with HAI. The Industry Partnership Program Manager will also have a leadership role in creating and supporting programs to deliver value to the HAI corporate and foundation members, contributing to new business development and relationship management activities related to corporate and foundation fundraising, while creating new content and programs that support HAI's mission of advancing AI research, education, policy, and practice. Working in support of faculty, engages companies and other stakeholders to inform and influence industry practices in ethical and human-centered directions for the benefit of society.

The Industry Partnership Program Manager will report to the Managing Director for Partnerships and will coordinate with other members of the HAI team, the faculty, the Office of Development and various other institutes and centers as appropriate to deliver value to HAI's expanding community.

This is a two-year fixed-term position, and may be extended based on programmatic need and funding availability. This position is 100% FTE and benefits-eligible. JOB PURPOSE:

Develop, execute, and oversee a proactive strategy coupled with appropriate programs, aimed at building awareness, consideration and engagement while elevating the Institute's national and international reputation as a global center of excellence and partner of choice. Collaborate with all stakeholders internal to the university as well as partners and external audiences to understand and prioritize the needs and requirements of key constituencies.

CORE DUTIES:

• Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex functions or programs with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise. May provide development of program or function from initial concept to implementation.
  • Lead and manage program initiatives from start to finish.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conduct risk management and issue resolution activities as needed.
• Manage the administration and evaluation of programs or functions. Oversee the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries.
  • Continuously improve processes and methodologies to increase program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve project issues.
• Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Communicate project status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Develop and manage outreach strategy that includes relationship development, communications, and compliance.
• Oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.
• May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ensure project goals and objectives are met on time and within budget.
  • Manage program budgets and monitor spending against plan.
