POSITION OVERVIEW
The Department of Security, Fire, and Emergency Management invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Emergency Management. This position begins in Fall 2024.
Candidates should have teaching experience, strong research experience, grant participation, and publications. In terms of teaching, candidates should be able to employ pedagogical approaches that support diverse students??? engagement. Candidates should be able to teach courses for our undergraduate major in Emergency Service Administration (ESA) and Master???s degree in Emergency Management and conduct research in one or more of the following areas: emergency response, evacuation, international disaster management, climate change and coastal resilience, big data analytics for disaster management, social and physical vulnerability (including mental health), urban planning, agent-based modeling, artificial intelligence, or a related area in emergency management. Candidates with field work research and practical experience will receive special consideration.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in their area of Emergency Management expertise. Although outstanding ABDs near completion will be considered, the degree must be completed by August 2024.
COMPENSATION
$52,267- $99,532 Salary commensurate with education and credentials.
