Baylor University seeks candidates for Assistant/Associate Professor (Specialization: Educational Technology / Digital Literacies (tenure-track).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pursue and maintain an active research agenda.
• Participate in individual and collective activities to secure external research funding.

• Engage in service to the profession, and to the department, school, and university.

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Curriculum & Instruction prepares professional educators for transformative leadership in research-based teaching practice and student learning. Qualifications:
Consistent with Baylors mission to be a world-class institution dedicated to Christian principles and ideals, the qualifications for the position include:

• Doctorate in a field aligned with digital education, instructional technology, digital literacies, or learning analytics.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas or a closely related topic: the development, application, and critical analysis of digital technologies in education; the impact of digitalization/datafication in formal or informal learning environments; literacy instruction and practice related to digital technologies (e.g., digital-, media-, information-, algorithmic- literacies); digital game studies and play-based learning; immersive virtual environments; internet cultures and learning; artificial intelligence and machine learning in education; data visualization, mining, and learning analytics; surveillance, copyright, and technology policy.
• Coherent progression of peer-reviewed scholarship commensurate with rank (at the assistant level, evidence of potential for establishing a strong research agenda; at the associate-level, a coherent record of peer-reviewed research and credentials sufficient to merit the rank of tenured associate professor at a Research 1 institution).
• Evidence of, or strong potential for, grant writing or grant-funded research.
• Excellence in teaching at the university level.
• Demonstrated mentorship of undergraduate and/or doctoral students (at the assistant-level), or demonstrated mentorship of doctoral students and/or junior faculty (at the associate-level).
• A history of active faith community engagement in the Christian or Jewish tradition.

SALARY AND BEGINNING DATE: The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and professional experience. The anticipated date of appointment is August 1, 2024.
