Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with ongoing research projects and building new projects and grants related to Plastic surgery and Craniomaxillofacial surgery. Current research projects include the use of artificial intelligence to recognize children's cleft palate speech problems, 3D-printing to design surgical parts and guides to make complex surgeries safer and more accurate, tissue regeneration projects, and analyzing surgical outcomes to help find which surgeries and treatments yield the best outcomes.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Research Coordinator in the realm of Pediatric Plastic Surgery and Craniofacial Surgery. Our mission is to help improve the lives of children and their families with innovative surgical techniques and cutting-edge research. Plastic Surgery repairs the things that make us uniquely human: our face, our speech (palate), our hands, and involves functional soft tissues such as muscle and nerves, as well as hard tissues such as bones and cartilage to rebuild the face.

Mission duties include overseeing research projects, grants, manuscripts, including the steps: collecting organizing analyzing data, logistics of abstracts submissions and conferences, grant applications and renewals and maintaining dates and deadlines. Teamwork and communication are essential, for working with students and team members on a daily basis for the above tasks to track and keep projects moving forward day-by-day week-by-week, and meeting with director at least weekly to review progress and find solutions.

This position is based at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in San Francisco and Oakland, with main lab spaces at those areas, including 3D-printing centers. There may be other sites in the UCSF system as we grow our collaborations and partnerships.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
