The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), College of Medicine, Division of Transplant Surgery, is accepting applications for an Instructor position. The primary duties of the position include:

Data Management, Sequencing and Statistical Analyses:

• Design research and clinical studies, develop statistical and machine learning methods and perform data analysis using multi-omics, microbiome and clinical data

• Perform data management and data analysis under the supervision of faculty members and Sr. Research Staff utilizing RNA-seq or single cell RNA-seq data analysis, ChIP-seq, ATAC-SEQ AND DNA methylation

• Develop methods using machine learning/artificial intelligence using clinical and transcriptomics data from liver or kidney transplant patients

• Perform complex data analysis which includes advanced modeling methods, creating data files, describing patient populations, coding clinical outcomes and perform univariate statistical analysis

Manuscript Support/Education

• Develop a diverse research portfolio with a mix of collaborative and independent methodological transplant research

• Prepare and submit papers to scientific journals and present at national and international conferences

• Create reports which may have an impact on policies or initiatives

• Support investigators, scientists and physicians in the preparation of scientific reports, manuscripts and materials for presentation at national and international meetings

This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position. The successful candidate will participate in the education of medical residents, fellows, postdoctoral scholars and students.
